BANK FEES OVERCHARGING

In May 2016 I went to an FNB Brach and asked them to den grade my account from platinum which cost almost R300 in bank fees, to a normal account that costs +_R5 a month. Reason for the down grading is because I honestly cannot see why I shoud pay for the colour of my ank account that offered no value at all to me. For example, a while ago I emailed my so called personal banker and we emailed to and fro 26 times before she eventually said' I am sorry I had not read your initial request properly... Then to add insult to serious injury, her supervisor sent a "we are sorry" email and offered R35's worth of e bucks as the apology.
Since May I ave been charged platinum rate account fees even though I have repeatedly asked for a down grading in writing. Is there a banking umbudsman out there who can advise on how the hack a bank can so blatantly ignore my written requests? How many other customers have had a similar experience? What we can do collectively?

Reviewer Update

Below is the not very elpful response I got from FNB

Good morning ...

Thank you for the information.

The request to downgrade your account was forwarded by Nomvelo Nzimande to change the account to an Easy account.

I will follow up with her and provide feedback.

Regards
