Bank Card denied to a long service customer due to "invalid" documents

So the mother of my child got ****** with all her documents and ended up losing everything, ID book, FNB bank card, Cellphone, i mean everything even up to her house keys. We all know that woman have the tendency of carrying their whole life in their hand bags because that's just how organized they are.

She then telephonically suspended her cellphone number with her network service provider and blocked her phone which we all know ********* can easily unblock. She also then blocked her FNB Cheque card.

Nonetheless, she then found an original Passport that expired but still indentifies her however, the FNB denied her collecting the card she app**** for. They have said that her card is ready to be collected, but only once she has her Smart ID, which only arrives some time next month.

I have lost my wallet along with my license, ID and bank card about a month back as well and my bank gave me a new card with my expired Passport because it's still an original home affairs document which, might i add identifies you. The only difference is that it has expired.

So moral of the story is that that leaves her cashless from December all the way to January.

Now I have been banking with my bank for roughly 3 years and they made an acception and provision so that I can get a card so that I could gain access to "my" money.

Why is it that FNB won't make provision to a mother of a 3year old especially through the festive season especially since she has been a client of FNB for I think more than 10years now. They should have enough Fica documents on their system to Identify her as the account holder. The Passport is barcoded as well so why is it so damn hard to issue a woman a new bank card?!

I find this somewhat selfish and inconsiderate for a bank that I always saw as the leading bank. The only reason I left FNB years back was because I resigned from the institution and wanted no affiliation whatsoever.

I was planning on joining FNB again soon 'coz my bank charges is extremely ridiculous. But if my bank is willing to bend over backwards for me with an expired Passport as an example then I'm willing to stick to my current bank as much as FNB is so user friendly. But when it comes to a crisis then I think I am more than happy with my bank any "User Friendly" is then of zero importance.

Side Note: "She can use eWallet for airtime and electricity but nothing else. Can somebody please explain that one as well." (yes, we know the Fica and Fais requirements, but this then contradicts those rules.)

Well done to the staff at FNB for making me not want to go back to joining up. I remember a conference with Michael Jordaan. That man was a real good leader, customer service and values was of utmost importance. Up to the Values which is of utmost importance that keeps the bank afloat, (Pride, Integrity Ubuntu, Respect and Innovation) Where does any one of those values fit in here? No where. I'm pretty saddened actually by what I thought was the best bank.

She has lost all hope and doesn't even feel it's necessary to take it further 'coz she feels that she will get nowhere with her inquery if the bank just keeps denying her cry for help. This is no different than losing complete faith in humanity. Once she gains access to her account next year January, she will be joining my bank. Because like with happiness and being made feel important, it is the little things that count.

P.S. Thank you First National Bank! I very very seldom complain, but when I do, it ends up looking like the above.

Good day Melinda.
Thank you for giving feedback.
I've sent the I.D number to you.
Just awaiting confirmation as to whether you have recieved the mail yet or not.
I do understand that you have hundreds of bank mails to respond to daily, since friends of mine are also in charge of certain departments in the bank, so I will patiently await your response.
Kind Regards
