Bank Account Frozen

I am absolutely furious with FNB for freezing my account!

I have double checked and only received 1 sms on Wednesday, 08 March at 14h10 to say I need to submit proof of address. I thought this was a hoax and just ignored the message.

I have not received an email or a phone call to advise that my account will be frozen if I did not submit the proof of address.

I went to put in petrol Thursday evening and only after needing to pay, discover that my account has been frozen.

I was embarrassed, inconvenienced and completely stressed out.

In October, when I changed banks to FNB, I submitted all documentation to open the account and cannot understand why this has happened.

Are you even allowed to freeze someone’s bank account without any warning!

I have now submitted my proof of address, via email, and would appreciate that my bank account be unfrozen ASAP.

Kind regards

Lauren Anderson
