Bad service in Home Loans department - No loyalty

Dear FNB,

I have app**** for a further loan (Ref ***) on my current Home loan and were declined twice on basis of insufficient available funds. My current outstanding amount is R408 000 on a property with a value of more than R1.5mil. I app**** for a further R80 000 to consolidate my debt (R10 000 on credit card and R10 000 overdraft) and use the rest for home improvements to add further value to my property. We have a disposable income of R53 000 available in our bank account each month with our debit orders amounting to R22 000 per month which leaves us with an available amount of R31 000 per month for living expenses (2 x adults and a baby). The consultant keeps on including my full outstanding Credit amount and Overdraft (R20 000) as a living expense in my application. I am a long standing FNB client (More than 10 years) and a low risk (only 30% loan on total value) and FNB do not want to help me. I app**** online with SA home loans and were approved with a better rate (10.1% vs 10.65%). I am also considering moving all my business from FNB because of this. I am very unhappy with the outcome of this process and would like to bring this to your attention as you will lose more business because of this.

Regards, PS Janse van Rensburg
