Bad Experience Applying for FNB Credit Card.

I have been struggling to apply for FNB credit card.

The online application is buggy as my surname was wrongly generated on the agreement. I then app**** telephonically only to get a call a few days later with a new agreement showing a lower credit limit. Was told I can send in my work contract as proof of income (as I was one month into my first real job), but then the wrong salary amount is used (Basic Salary instead of Gross Salary). Ultimately leading to the application to be declined due to "not meeting income requirements". The day before I was asked to send my payslip showing my entire salary, which I did.

I did reapply, but it is taking a very long time and becoming an inconvenience. I am regretting my choice of moving to FNB.

5 Seconds after my post they are quick to reply that they don't accept other variable income even if they can see I am obligated to work 40 hours a week. This is pathetic. But at least I am informed now (The few consultants I spoke with didn't tell me this). I made a bad decision joining their bank and I will not recommend it to anyone in the future.

I will see what happens in 48 hours, as it has been "escalated". Talked to one of the consultants now stating they DO take the gross salary not just the basic salary. I believe that it may be the work contract that is unclear and the main cause of confusion. Hopefully, this gets resolved soon. Thanks for the patience FNB. Will change the review as soon the problem has been resolved.
