Bad experience

Opened an account early November, updated my banking details at work to get my salary on this account. Received payment notification for my salary but funds are not available. I spoke to the agents who seemed clueless, drove to the nearest branch only to be told that my account has a hold stays. How does a new account with one deposit done when collecting card have a hold. I have not received my salary and I am told it’s escalated with no turn around time
