Bad business practice

I purchsed an iPhone 6 Plus via the FNB Device offer and it was insured via FNB device insurance in 2015. Earlier this month my phone was damaged beyond repair and I claimed from insurance. I am now told that 1) they will replace the device with an cheaper iPhone 6 as the iPhone 6 plus is too expensive and 2) I'm told the contract terms and conditions have changed and access has increased from the initial 500 to 10%. This changes were emailed to me earlier this year by one Kobus Venter who is no longer working at FNB. I would not have known that Kobus Venter works for FNB and the email announced important changes to the terms and conditions of my policy. I have other policies and if the changes were not sneaked through and I was made aware I would have changed policies. I do not think that is ethical and a good business practice.
