Avoid FNB Forex

In June 2015 we bought Forex at FNB without a hitch.

In November 2016 it was a different experience:

1. The Forex is now handled at the general tellers so one has to stand and shout across the glass barriers where everyone in the queue can hear every word ( and know how much foreign cash you are carrying out)

2.We had to go back to the bank when we discovered the money had not been loaded onto one Cash Passport. Fortunately we checked before we left.

3. After the trip we went to redeem the unused funds. Although the bank closes at 2pm the tellers had already closed at 12 when we arrived.

4.We tried again today only to be told that you can buy Forex on a Saturday but not redeem it !!!

We have banked with FNB for many years but will DEFINITELY not be using their Forex service again.

Colleen Hindson
