Authentication method
I phoned the Premier banking telephone line to enquire about a credit card payment.

After speaking to a consultant, she asked me to authenticate myself using my telephone keypad. It involves the customer entering 6 digits of any of their bank cards and then entering the PIN number for that card.

I have complained previously about this but it seems that this is the only way for me to authenticate myself with their consultant.

I do not think it is safe to enter my PIN into the telephone despite what FNB tell me. I don't know where the call is being directed to. My key touches may easily be recorded by an ************ employee. I will then be left vulnerable to theft.

Every bank explicitly warns you not to reveal your PIN to anyone under any circumstance. Why should this be different.

Following my unwillingness to authenticate myself via this method I was told that there was no other way to do so. I was then unable to resolve my issue telephonically.

It was eventually resolved via email
