Atrocious customer service

FNB approached me more than 2 months to switch accounts to them offering me a reduce home loan interest rate to do so. the offer seemed good and i accepted on condition that all administration would have to be taken care off by my private banker. todate i have not been awarded the benefit of the reduced home loan interest rate and it has been an administrative nightmare on my side to get my accounts switched.

After much painful follows up and inadequate feedback on each of the follow ups i have managed on in the last week to get my cards activated and working. I have had to most unpleasant and inconvenient experience of having my credit card declined at the store only to find out that it was not activated some 2 months after requesting it albeit following up the previous day with my private banking and having him confirm all was in order.

together with appalling customer service, it is very apparent that FNB operates in silos with each department not integrating to provide a seamless customer experience, i have had many encounters with the credit card, cheque card, home loan and ebucks departments in isolation and all requesting similar information on numerous occasions. It is no wonder FNB is unable to provide a good customer experience.

Having said this it is the job of a private banker to ensure that the customer does not experience the inefficiencies that FNB has in the background which has also failing in this case. i have not received the value adding service even though i am paying for it. In the short space of the 2 months my private bankers has been changed without prior notice to me and with no continuity from one to the other. I have had to resend all communications and information to both bankers in an effort to get my accounts activated and running.

todate i also have not have my debit orders switched hence i have having to operate 2 accounts with 2 different banking incurring the additional bank chargers and still no proper customer services from FNB. this has been both disappointing and frustrating from a clients perspective and i will certainly not be recommending FNB to my friends and family.

a very disappointed client
