Are you with the right bank? FNB is a horrible bank with complete disregard for customer satisfaction

FNB's private banking offering is a complete myth. The lack of customer service is completely appalling , it seems that its just better for one to go back to normal banking and just go to the branch. I wrote to FNB on the 6th of July explaining that my cheque card had been lost and asking them to cancel it and to order a new card on my behalf. My email was not acknowledged and I was only called two days later by a consultant who wanted to verify if I lost my card. She said that I could only be auntheticated if I have a bank card with me. I mentioned that I did not have any card with me and I could use my credit card and that she she should call me back in an hour. The consultant didnt call back in an hour as requested.

I tried to use my credit card that same day and the transaction wouldnt go through. I called the bank and I was told that the transaction was stopped because they suspected ***** on my account. I told the bank that it was not ***** and that it was me trying to use the card. The bank then went ahead to authenticate me, I was told to go back to the till and try to pay again as my card had been authenticated. I went back to the till and the same thing happened, the transaction was blocked. The ***** department called me again and they told me that they would need to authenticate me again and I was asked to go back to the till again as I had been authenticated. I went back to the till and another call from the ***** department. After two hours of back and forth, a few calls later and a few trips to the till, I was told that my card was blocked prior because of an incorrect pin entry.

I asked why I was not told previously, after I had wasted two hours of my time and airtime because I had to keep calling the bank. The explaination and service from the call centre was completley **********. I just callled FNB Private banking again now to activate my card and I was transferred to two other departments. I told the consultant that my card has been deactivated and she said that my card is active and the website clearly states that the card is not active. I have not had active cards since the 6th of July. I have been calling FNB but it seems as if your call centre staff is not well trained. I have always banked with FNB and no other bank, I have been a loyal customer and FNB fails me when I need the most.

I am offically done with FNB. I will be moving all my FNB accounts, including my FNB business accounts to Nedbank. Goodbye FNB
