Another useless bank - like all the others
After being an ABSA Private Bank Client for 20 years - and being treated like I stole from them, I decided to change banks. I did my research and decided on First National. I went to the bank on Tuesday. Received a slip, which showed the waiting time to be 29 minutes. After waiting 1hour and 10 minutes in an open waiting area, which resembles a SARS waiting area, I was called to a counter. I needed a cheque, savings and credit card account. It took more than an hour. I eventually gave up trying to hear what the assistant was saying and also stopped asking questions. Her communication skills were non-existent! The process was so convoluted; sign here, take a finger print, read a OTP, over and over and over ....... The Cell phone banking app, also didn't respond as expected. Every selection had to be done twice. Files couldn't be down loaded to the phone, etc. Three days later I received an SMS stating that my card is ready for collection. After another stay in the waiting area, I was informed that they have a Debit Card for me. I did not ask for one and I don't want one. Why do they assume that they can change my order for a Credit Card to a debit card without consulting with me? It will apparently take much longer to get a credit card - Why? Why are banks competing to see who can get away with the least service? Thank you, but if this is the start, I don't want to continue.
We will be sure to pass on your thanks and comments to management and I am so pleased that we've managed to live up to our brand's slogan "How can we help you?"
