accounts open without my knowledge...

Some context. Before actual complaint:

I decided to undergo debt counseling in 2014 and had 3 accounts with FNB: Cheque, a Smart device and a Visa credit card. This was all listed under the review.

cc paid up and both my accounts (at some point in my term)

I then get a mail from my counselor who advises me that FNB has 2 accounts that are in a positive balance. (Insert majorly confused mind here)

I contact FNB call Centre (first call) and do my regular security checks and the agent advises me that there is a cheque account open in my name. All communications to fnb from my debt counselor stipulates that the account should be closed as soon as I'm paid up.

So I call the fnb debt review Centre (second call) only to find out that FNB did not stop the monthly payments received from the affiliate money distribution company my debt counsellors use.

Thus Making my smart device account go into positive balance (I mean why would this happen, when I'm supposed to have a fixed term with the device?) and my current account, which I assumed to be closed back in 2014 when I switched to standard bank, is still open too.

COMPLAINT: my complaint resonates around getting my money back. No I'm not phased about the 7-10 working day period blah blah blah that the agent told me about. I work in the financial sector so I'm confident it can be transferred immediately without any cost to the consumer (that's me by the way FNB - just in the event you were not certain)

After calling the Centre for the third time, it was apparent after the first call that the only way I can get my money is to order a card. I then had wait a few days for the card to arrive and it's going to cost me R130 including courier service. I was confused that they would charge me so I rejected the card payment as previously one could get a card for free as a goodwill gesture once a year.

I then - after being placed on hold numerous times when the lack of product knowledge and consumer etiquette call Centre agent Cindy who constantly had to confer with her manager - was told that because there was no card linked to my cheque account I have to pay.

[Insert confusion smiley here] FNB kindly advise how one can have an active account with you (which I was unaware of might I add) and no card linked?

Then after me wanting to leave the money in your institution there was no sense of customer care.

I'm yet to hear an apology for the error of taking payments from my counselor after my accounts were paid off. This once again proves beyond a shadow of a doubt the incompetence of staff, and ***** business ethic FNB has towards its customers.

So here are my humble requests:

1. Full statement for the last 3 years months on all accounts
2. The transfer of the positive funds in my smart device account into the cheque account.
3. All bank charges, since ALL the fnb accounts went under review, to be refunded.
4. Also all paid up letters to be sent to me to showcase everything is complete.

All of the above to be completed without cost to me.

If I do not revive a response by close of business 20 June 2017 I will be taking this matter to the ombudsman.
