Account not closed -after 3 weeks from request

I opened a Share Savings account with FNB, which is my bank for a long time now, and I had to deposit R200.00. After I realised that this was not the account I was looking for, I called over three weeks ago request to request that it be closed, and I was told it would take three days. When the three days lapsed, I checked and saw the account was still open, I called again to check what was wrong. I was told that the request had to go to their Investment accounts / office, which they transferred me through. I was told that they are closing the account, it would take three days. After another three days, I checked and saw the account was still open. I called again, they told me some department had to do some clearance activity, and that should not take long. I have been checking since then, which is almost two weeks after my last call, but nothing happened. I lodged a complaint on their website, I heard nothing from FNB. I feel somebody is just lazy and not doing what they are supposed to be doing. FNB is a reputable bank, which is why I'm still banking with them, but somebody is doing a disservice in this case.
