Absolute Headache of a bank!
I was contacted by a consultant with the offer that should I switch to FNB from my current bank, they would drop my home loan interest by 15 basis points along with several other promises. Once the the agreements were all signed, everything went quiet and I had to continuously follow up with the bank for feedback and progress. The consultant, a Mr G Mkhonza, could not be reached and did not respond to any of my mails. The debit order switching was a nightmare and took far longer than anticipated and I ended up having several debit orders bounce which affects my, up until now, flawless credit score. I have had to make two visits to my local branch after spending almost two hours on the phone being transferred from one consultant to the next, each being more clueless than the previous. The consultant at the branch was finally able to inform me that my details were captured incorrectly by the consultant on the phone and this resulted in the delays. Mr Mkhonza made promises via telephone to get me to switch and none of these have been met!
I have had nothing but trouble since switching to FNB. I have been waiting to switch my credit card now for almost two months, and because FNB don't know what is going on half of the time I now am paying service charges to both banks.
Had I known what a headache I was going to be in for, I would have NEVER switched!!
Not good enough, especially for a bank that claims to be one of SA's best.
