A mission to cancel overdraft facility

I have been a loyal customer of FNB's for years. A couple of years ago I app**** for an overdraft facility, and what a pleasant and easy process it was. Did everything online, no hassle. Fast forward to today, when I would like to cancel the same facility and you would think it would be as easy. Think again. Thought let me do it online (the same way I got the thing), but nope, you can only decrease the facility to a minimum of R1. Then I thought let me give them a call, and again, they were unable to assist me. I was told I have to go into the branch to cancel such a facility. This seems so *****! I have to make time to go stand in a queue to cancel the overdraft. Surely canceling it is easier then opening one (considering all required checks). This whole thing seems super ********* as it discourages a client from getting rid of debt. Not impressed.
