A horrible banking experience with FNB!!!

This bank is absolutely pathetic. They are slow, and purposefully ***********. I have a professional degree and I was interested in the benefits of the young professionals account that so many banks are offering. These banks offer loads of perks for first time professionals such as great interest rates, a private banker, a credit card even if your credit score isn't quite up yet, and a whole bunch more.

I joined FNB on the young professionals account, and I have been nothing but disappointed since. My private banker was a chat bot, with random assistants popping in to answer a query. You even have to wait in a que. I was told I can't get a credit card because of my credit score, which would be fine if this was a normal service I was applying for, but this was supposed to be a professionals account???

Instead of a credit card I was offered a personal loan which I only accepted to boost my credit score., but the *********** loans department did not put the debit order on the account I just opened. Instead, they put the debit order on my previous bank account which I wasn't using anymore. This meant that the debit orders kept bouncing. So my credit score actually got worse. Luckily I realized this on my own and transferred money into that account so the debit orders could go through. I enquired about the problem but I have been waiting for almost 2 weeks with no response.

I have since joined Standard Bank, where I was given a private banker on day one who helped me open the accounts. I've gotten a credit card at a brilliant interest rate and the service has been as promised from a young professionals account.

I am trying to close my FNB account at the moment, and as expected, this too is an absolute disaster. I have to wait a week just for the request to be logged and then who knows what other hoops I have to jump through.

If there are any degree holders out there who are thinking about joining FNB, I would urge you not to do so. Go to any other bank. Absa, Nedbank and Investec offer the same type of product and I am sure that the service can't be as bad as FNB. They are disgusting!!!
