A bad welcome at FNB

Hello Peter,

Having opened a cheque account at FNB Brandwag Branch in December 2016, I visited the bank’s Charlotte Maxeke Branch on 3 January 2016 at 16h30 so that my monthly salary can be paid into my new FNB cheque account. Little did I know that I would experience this:

While I was seated and waiting to be called to meet one of the tellers, a bank official beat me on the head with a paper advert he was removing from the ceiling. When I turned my head to see what was happening, it seemed that this was intentional because the paper advert was in the bank official’s hand. Furthermore, that the bank official did not say anything despite seeing me in a state of surprise and shock – also implies that this was deliberate. I am told that the bank official’s name is Mr Koos Smith, the Branch Manager.

In light of the above, I feel offended and disrespected. Also, it is unbecoming of an adult, let alone a bank manager, to do such an action to another person. My understanding is that: you don’t do that to a client. As a result, I am not sure if doing banking with FNB is still a good idea. I am disappoointed.
