A bad bank for small businesses.

FNB was recently awarded as best bank for SME's particularly female entrepreneurs. This is not the experience I've had with the bank. I opened a business account last year some time and would frequently EFT from my personal account with the same bank to ensure there was always funds therein. Since about January this year I've been unable to do so and business has been bleak. My personal account was closed with no notice or communication from the bank, after I had enquired I was informed the account was closed due to insufficient funds. I've had small amounts infrequently deposited into the business account for the past 10 months. I received an sms on the 21/10/2021 as a reminder to pay R370,56 to reactivate/close the account. I was only able to do so a few days later by which time the business account was closed. I contacted *** to confirm that the deposit will be returned and the account will be closed. Today, 26/11/2021 I received an sms stating that I have been handed over for legal debt collection. I have sent numerous emails to *** explaining that I haven't been employed since January 2021 hence the lack of funds in my personal account and I've explained the low business activity. FNB applies great customer service to selective customers. It's not a bank for a new entrepreneur. I don't have R370,56 to pay for this. And by the time I gather the cash, the legal debt collection fees added will mean I end up paying R800+ for this. That's ridiculous. I don't have to explain the effects covid19 has had on small businesses in addition to the 'regular' challenges. I will never bank with FNB again nor will I ever recommend the bank to anyone.
