90 day notice period is just an excuse to make as much money as possible.

I am selling my home. Banks require that you serve a 90 day notice period which they will punish you for not completing. So to avoid the "early termination fee", I gave FNB notice 6 months ago. I was notified as such. A few days short of 6 months later, I sent another email to FNB notifying them that the house was not sold yet. Shortly after that the house DID get sold. at this point I was still under the impression that I had already served the 90 days notice almost 3 months prior. However, what FNB fail to tell you, is that they start that 90 day notice period again. So now I'm being PUNISHED (yes it's a punishment, they even call it a penalty) by being charged an exorbitant amount of money. The joke is that they call it an "EARLY TERMINATION NOTICE". Yet I notified them WELL before the the house was sold. This is an extremely unfair practice and just a sneaky way to try and as much money out of banking customers as possible. I feel let down by FNB, whom up until now, has been a great bank. But instead I'm now throwing money at them and getting NOTHING in return.
