7 years later & still struggling with FNB!
Many years ago I had a few accounts with FNB when I started my career. Unfortunately I had to go under debt review in 2012. However in 2015, I came off Debt Review and paid all accounts with FNB. I received closure letters. In 2021, I opened my own business and subsequently opened a FNB account. Business has been going well and now coming up to December, I wanted to get credit to expand but my business banker tells me everything is perfect with the business financials however on my personal name there is an issue. After 3 weeks, back and forth with numerous emails and calls, I learnt that my personal profile is negative at FNB due to funds that they wrote off in 2017. Which I never knew about because I assumed once I got a settlement amount, I pay and the account is closed. Now, they can't tell me when my name will be cleared or can't help in anyway. So then my business suffers and they can't do anything. FNB is honestly the worst. I should have just went with Nedbank or Std Bank like everyone suggested. I can't just move my bank account because to notify clients now takes forever so I'm stuck paying business bank fees monthly on an account that can't help me with anything. SME'S STAY AWAY FROM FNB. NO HELP FOR SMALL ENTREPRENEURS!
