32day account
It is unacceptable that funds held in my account with First National Bank do not earn any interest below a certain threshold, while the bank continues to benefit from those same funds. This creates a clear imbalance and places the customer at a disadvantage. I am particularly concerned that other financial institutions in South Africa offer savings and 32-day notice accounts where interest is earned on lower balances without such restrictive minimum requirements. This raises serious concerns about the fairness and competitiveness of FNB’s current product structure. As a customer, I expect a fair and transparent approach to how my money is handled. I request that this matter be reviewed and that FNB provide clarity on why smaller balances are excluded from earning any return, as well as what alternatives are available to customers in this position.
