30 Accounts Effectively Frozen with no Notice
We administer sectional title schemes. 35 which hold accounts at FNB - opened approximately 20 years ago. Mandates were updated in 2011 - which FNB now incidentally have no record of.
All signing arrangements state \any 2 to sign\". Included was a resolution from the Trustees giving permission for managing agent to sign. 2 signatories from the managing agent's office have been signing the cheques for 17 years until this week when Michelle Van Ster advised that this was not legal as the correct mandates were not in place & refused to cash wage cheques. She then escalated the matter to head office who advised they will not honor any payments. Tape Bedford (business manager) has been promising since Friday to provide us with names of signatories on each account - 2 business days have passed and no email received despite numerous requests. Without this info we are unable to rectify the situation.
It is disgraceful that Fnb are not even prepared to give us at least a week to sort this out & update the mandates (which is a mammoth task). They allowed us to sign for 17 years but now refuse to assist in any way, resulting in 30 cleaners not paid, jeopardizing municipal services, etc"
