3 weeks later and no joy.

I recently opened a new gold account 3 weeks ago to move all my accounts from ABSAto FNB online. Spoke to a consultant telephonically who assisted me to do so. At no point was I told to go the branch and fica my details. I was only told to bring my ID and proof of residence and hand them over to the delivery guy when my card arrives. Once my card arrived, tried to setup online banking(failed), tried the ATM with pin given to me(failed), called the number at the back of my card as instructed, could not get anyone to help me activate this card, kept being transferred from pillar to post. Went to the branch only to be told that my account has not been ficad.

I understand that you are required to fica, what ****es me off is that I was unable to get any help until i had to physically go to a branch and sort this matter out only to be told I need my original Id and proof of res. Why was I not informed to to so weeks ago? I went the online route because is was convenient for me, which is clearly not. My salary is about to be paid into this account since I'm in the process of switching from ABSA to FNB in hope to get a better service. But, Im already doubting if I want to carry on with the switch if this is what I can expect. Thinking of cancelling and trying Nedbank.
