2 hours, no answer.

I am currently under debt review and on the verge of paying off all my outstanding debt. FNB is one of the creditors i have been paying for the past 5 years without ever missing a payment. I had an overdraft, credit card and personal loan with them and to my knowledge all three these accoints have been settled. On the 23/07/2019 I made contact with my debt counsellor to arrange for the paid up letters for all my creditors to be sent to me. My debt counsellor then informed.me that FNB had sent them a notice that my overdraft facility had never been paid and that I owed them a further R25000. My opening balance on the facility was R18000 and I have already paid R25000 on this account. I sent the proof of payment to the collections department on the the 24/07/2019 and attempted to confirm that the e-mail had been received. I spent 2 hours on the line holding to speak to a consultant and then the line got cut off. The service levels are atrocious and I need this situation rectified before I am forced to pay a premium towards an account that has been settled already. FNB has definitely dropped the ball on the service side of their business and I would definitely not recommend a move to FNB to anyone I know.

I was contacted by a consultant and told that this issue has been resolved and an e-mail would be sent to me containing a paid up letter. No e-mail was sent to me and when I followed up with the loans collections department I was told the person I spoke to has no idea what they are talking about. Since then I have contacted the loans department again and an e-mail has been sent to me with a bunch of confusing lingo. My main question has still not been answered, where is the R25 000 I have paid towards this account to date? I am beyond disgusted with service provided and the incompetence of the staff I have been dealing with. It seems I will need to escalate this matter to the banking ombudsmen to get this matter resolved. FNB has definitely lost it's way and there is no way I would ever consider doing business with them again.
