The Orbera is a waste of money!

Bought the Orbera 365 Weight Loss Balloon in May 2020 through First Medical Company, which cost me >R25,000 with the hope that it would assist with weight loss. First Medical suggested I contact Dr A Botha (listed on their website as well). It was another additional >R5000 for Dr A Botha to insert the balloon at his office. After 12 months and no difference in my weight, I had to remove the balloon again. Dr A Botha now quoted R6000 to have it removed. After x4 attempts he could not remove it. I requested a refund and he refused. First Medical was of no help during this time, after sales service is non existing. I got a 2nd opinion and the doctor was surprised to learn that Dr Botha did such a dangerous procedure in his office. After she tried to assist, and with the scarring caused by Dr Botha, they have been unable to remove the balloon. Cant believe a company like First Medical supports and directs clients to Dr Botha. If you are considering getting the Orbera, please don't its a waste of money!
