UNHAPPY CUSTOMER
I was in a vehicle accident on Saturday the 27th of November.
Initially the guys from first help was very friendly and help full. I phoned my insurance company and they informed me that I do not have towing services included in my policy. Johan from First help said that he will tow my car for the amount of R1950 to their yard in Watloo. When I phoned on Monday I received an invoice for R10450. ( I understand the additional fee for admin, security and storage), however the towing fee was R5200 as well as a Recovery fee of R1500.
He never gave me a copy of the tow slip and I only received it upon request. I realized that where I signed I acknowledge that I have read the terms and conditions. The problem I have is that the terms and conditions page was never shown to me. Under normal circumstance I would have read and understood everything I sign for. I feel that the driver took advantage of me knowing I am traumatized.
I had to pay the R10450 in order to release my vehicle, I am quite unhappy in the way First Help handled the situation. I have also read on Hello Peter that this has happened in the past and the reply from First Help is that it has been escalated to management.
FIRST HELP PLEASE GIVE SOME FEEDBACK ON WHAT YOUR MANAGEMENT IS GOING TO DO ABOUT THIS FALSE REPRESENTATION FROM YOUR DRIVERS, TAKING ADVANTAGE OF TRAUMATIZED AND DISTROUCT CLIENTS. MY VEHCILE WAS TOWED FOR EXACTLY 9.7KM AT A TOWING RATE OF R5200 WHICH CALCULATES TO R536.08 PER KM, THAT IS PROBABLY THE MOST EXPENSIVE MODE OF TRANSPORTATION IN SOUTH AFRICA.
