Dear Sir/Madam,

I am writing to formally report and request an urgent investigation into the disappearance of my brand-new spare wheel and vehicle tools following the towing of my vehicle on 1 October 2026.

On 1 October 2026, I experienced an issue with my vehicle and contacted *** for assistance. A tow truck driver, Mulisa (contact number: ***), driving tow truck registration number ***, was assigned to assist me.

Upon arriving, Mulisa immediately took photographs of my vehicle. He explained that this was standard procedure because, according to him, dealerships sometimes remove clients' belongings and subsequently blame the tow truck driver.

After taking the photographs, Mulisa advised that he could not tow my vehicle due to the manner in which I had parked it. He therefore contacted one of his colleagues to assist with the recovery.

My vehicle was subsequently towed to Autocity Alberton for assistance. The vehicle was repaired, and I was satisfied with the service. I collected the vehicle and drove it home.

I later checked my boot and discovered that my spare wheel and the tools associated with it were missing.

I contacted Autocity Alberton and was advised that the boot had not been opened because there was no reason for their staff to open it.

I then contacted Mulisa and requested the photographs he had taken before the vehicle was collected, as well as the photographs taken after the vehicle was dropped off. He provided me with photographs showing:

The spare wheel and tools present in my boot before the vehicle was towed.

The boot after the vehicle was dropped off, showing that the spare wheel and tools were no longer present.

These photographs are particularly concerning because they establish that the spare wheel and tools were present before the vehicle was towed and were missing afterwards.

Mulisa has also advised me that his tow truck is equipped with a camera. I therefore request that any available camera footage from the vehicle be preserved and reviewed as part of the investigation, including footage from the time my vehicle was collected until it was delivered to Autocity Alberton.

I am formally requesting the following:

An urgent investigation into the disappearance of my spare wheel and vehicle tools.

That all relevant photographs, CCTV/camera footage, records and documentation relating to the towing and delivery of my vehicle be preserved and reviewed.

Confirmation of who had access to my vehicle and/or boot while it was in the possession or control of the towing service and during the delivery process.

A written explanation of the findings of the investigation.

The return/replacement of my brand-new spare wheel and the missing vehicle tools, as these items were present in the vehicle before it was collected.

I have retained the photographs provided by Mulisa and can provide them as supporting evidence. Given that the photographs appear to document the condition of the boot before and after the tow, I believe this matter requires urgent attention.

Please treat this as a formal complaint and provide me with urgent feedback regarding the investigation and the steps being taken to resolve the matter.

I would appreciate confirmation of receipt of this complaint and details of the person handling the investigation.
