Highly ********* conduct of business
Two weeks ago on a Friday , a women driving without a license headon back smashed my car and in a split second First Help Towing trucks and men appeared on the scene. These men interupted the entire process. They told me it was not necessary to call the police and acted as if they were helping and assisting but sadly speaking took advantage of our situation. They started of by saying no need to call the police you can just go to a police station tomorrow morning and report the case, then went on and convinced us that our cars are not able to drive then asked if our cars were insured. I rep**** no as I am unemployed and can't pay for insurance at this point in time. The women who drove into my car rep**** yes she is insured with Nedbank. These First Help Towing men then said to the women call your insurance check if you have third party insurance cover then took the phone from the women and pretended they were talking to the women's insurance ended the call and told us the insurance instructed them to take both our cars to the Nedbank assessment centre. They then placed these books on the bonnet of their truck and made us sign and record our personal details on these forms. I clearly remember asking the man what the charges are He rep**** it's a no charge mam the insurance covers all costs. You can just write see Ref no in the block where tow fees stood out. Ever so nicely they acted caring toward us and helped me to remove my personal items from my car loaded all on one of their tow trucks and took us home. Little did i know that they hijacked my car and took it to their holding area. Come Monday the women who drove into my car sent me her Nedbank insurance claim number and advised me to contact them and register my claim. It was only when I spoke to the Nedbank third-party claims that I discovered my car was not with them. It took me more than 2hours to locate my car. Called First Help and had one after the other uprupt manner of approach from their office staff. They don't allow you to explain anything all they allowed was them telling me to pay R13 000.00 to get my car. They were not prepared to explain how they arrived at this amount and took the liberty to tell me that charges escalates on a daily basis . I was shocked through body mind and soul. I called my brother explained to him what happened. He arranged a loan of R13000.00 for me, thinking the insurance will refund the money when including the invoice in my claim. I called back and asked First Help if they could email me an invoice with their banking details. They sent me a proforma invoice. I called again and asked for a tax invoice. The women said their system cant do tax invoice if there is no payment in their bank.🤔. After i transfered an immediate payment they took forever to confirm receipt of the payment. Then said I could come collect my car. It was days there after submitting my claim when Nedbank third party Insurance informed me that they don't pay for towing costs. This is when I realized I experienced a Broad day light ******* at night.
