First Help towing
On the 1st of August 2023 First Help towed my dad's vehicle to their depot in Kew JHB after my dad's car stalled at an intersection and rolled backwards into another vehicle, unclipping the front bumper. The First Help respondents insisted my dad's vehicle had to be towed for assessment even though it had no damage. My dad told them he only has third party insurance and to his knowledge does not cover towing, besides he only stays 200 meters from the accident scene and his vehicle is drivable. The towtruck driver(not mentioning the name) then asked what insurer is my dad covered by and asked for my dad's details. Within minutes my dad got a call(private number) from his "insurance company"and the lady(not mentioning the name) assured him that he is covered and that the vehicle has to be towed. My dad got three calls from the private number. The next day my dad contacted First Help to find out when he can fetch his vehicle but was told he owes First Help R12500. My dad contacted his insurance company to find out what is going on and they said there is no lady working for them by that name and no call was made out to my dad from them. He is not even covered for towing. My dad does not have that type of cashflow lying around and refuses to get it paid out of principal to people like that. I've seen numerous reports about the same **** First Help pulls by posing as an agent from your insurer. Well done First Help for ****ming a disabled pensioner out of his vehicle. Please check your staff as you have some very dishonest people working for you. May your stomachs be full selling his vehicle off as a code 04(abandoned vehicle). One day we must all answer to God.
Thank you for the automated reply, seems all complaints get the same response.
Not had any feedback from management other than letting my dad know how much more he owes you guys as the days go by.
