Windscreen Claim - 8 weeks to get stock
I have a special case of a windscreen claim that was submitted last week (1/06/2026). My windscreen is broken and Glasfit has indicated that there is no stock for that windscreen and needs to be imported and will take at least 8 weeks. I then queried with my claims assessor Marilize about this issue asking if the insurance can assist with courtesy car in the meantime since I won’t have a car for 8 weeks since my car is not roadworthy, she escalated the issue with management. I called on Monday 8/06/2026 after following up on email on the 5/06/2026 and the consultant on call told me that they don’t offer such for windscreen which I then explained to her that this is a special case because the windscreen cannot be fixed within a day or 2, she said she is going to ask Marilize to get back to me, still no feedback on this issue and I have followed up at least 2 times with no clear communication on what is being done by FFW to assist me. I was asked how bad is it, which for me it felt as though I’m being asked to drive the car as is and God Forbit I get involved in an accident the claim will be rejected by the same insurer because the car according to SA laws is not roadworthy. I am considering cancelling this insurance because either way I don’t think I will get assistance and I won’t be using my car for the next 2 months so why keep insurance?
