Value Added Products on Insurance

I cancelled my Insurance Policy (insurance on vehicle) with First for Women on 28/2/2013, but the Value added product on the policy was not cancelled simultaneously. First for Women never informed me that the Value added product had to be cancelled separately. First for Women proceeded to deduct a debit order, knowing that the Insurance policy was cancelled. Surely there is some relation between the main Insurance Policy and a value added product on the Insurance? If the main Insurance is cancelled, why not cancel the value added product? Or is this a method from First for Women to make more money on already very high insurance tariffs?
