Urgent

Dear Hellopeter,

I am writing to make a formal complaint against my insurance company (First for Woman). I covered my car with First for Woman should anything happen, for instance if it gets involve in a car accident or theft.

My complaint is that they failed to provide me with a satisfactory service when….

On the 2nd of August my car was bumped by a taxi from behind and it was badly damaged. Insurance company called immediately after the towing track has left the scene to take a statement. Two days or so they called saying the car was a write-off. On the 10th of August they called again asking few question and they said the will get back to me within 48 hours if they don’t get any loop holes in my statement they’ll settle the car. They called on the 14th of August saying my car was settled but the is a short fall of R30,758. They explained that the short fall was billed because of Market Value, that my car was now worth a value of R135,850 and I owe the bank R166,608 and the short value will be R30,758. I was financed by the bank (MFC) which is the one I owe R166,608 to. I asked how do I pay this short fall amount they said I must call the bank and ask for their banking details. I called the bank on the 17th of August the bank said I owe R39,658.52. I asked how caused the insurance company told me about R30,758, the bank couldn’t answer. I called the insurance company immediately and they said yes, I owe R39,658 because they added the access fee of R8900 which gave the total of R39,658. My complaint is that The car was insured in case it gets involved in an accident or its ******. They didn’t tell me about market value when I insured the car. They said I will pay the short fall of R30,758 then when I call the bank am told of R39,658. I think the was lack of communication or am being robed.

If you need any further information from me, please contact me on this number ********** .

I look forward to hear from you.

Yours sincerely

Thandi Jevu
