Unreasonable rates and attitude
A friend of mine had a recent bad experience with 1st For Women, so I feel I need to add to her grievance by sharing my negative experience with them. From one month to the next my premium increased by over 30%. I hadn't claimed or done anything to warrant such an increase. I had just received a cash cash back bonus for four claim free years. So this seems to be how they pay your bonus, by drastically increasing your premiums to compensate for the payout. If anything, premiums should remain the same, on most vehicles, as their replacement value depreciates. I called the help line inquiring about the drastic increase, and was told they would only be able to re-evaluate my premium the following month. This of course was not a satisfactory answer. I immediately cancelled the insurance (this they could do immediately). I joined outsurance, at half the premium for the same cover. The slap in the face was when I received confirmation of my policy cancellation. My reason for canceling the policy was stated as \being unable to afford premiums". I could afford it"
