Unfair Claim Handling – Pet Hospitalisation

I lodged a claim with First for Women after my cat, Mowgli, was admitted and kept overnight in hospital. Despite clear hospitalisation, the insurer is attempting to classify the admission under the minor care benefit, which materially reduces cover. I notified their consultant on Monday, yet four days have already passed without progress. Their latest communication now extends the timeline to 14 working days after they receive further vet information — longer than the 5–10 working days they advertise on their own website. This delay is causing me financial strain, as I need to pay the balance on the 26th and require reimbur*****t by then. I believe this constitutes unfair treatment and unreasonable delay. I am escalating the matter to the Ombudsman, but I also want to highlight publicly how First for Women is handling pet insurance claims.

I'll definitely be going to Dotsure. I never should have signed up with FFW in the first place. What an absolute drag dealing with them during an already stressful time. I DO NOT recommend.
