I’m struggling with my first-ever claim. Yvonne, the agent, isn’t responding to my emails, and when I call, I’m repeatedly transferred, only to be told to email her—yet she never replies.

This has been dragging on for months. Initially, my claim was approved, but then I was asked to prove I hadn’t made a claim in the past seven years with another insurer. I’ve only had insurance for five years; before that, I was uninsured. I provided proof of no claims for those five years, but since then, I’ve heard nothing. My co-payment is R10 000, which is extremely high. Thinking of switching to Sanlam.
