To recover excess or not to recover excess, that is the question

I was involved in an accident in February 2015; the other party was at fault and the claim was approved. I was assured the recovery of the excess would take a few months. I have attempted on numerous occasions to find out what the progress is in this regard, and have been sent from pillar to post, given different stories by a number of persons in the Legal Department. It is now 17 months since the accident and it appears no progress has been made in the miasma of general confusion that is First For Women. Due this I have cancelled my policy with this ironically-named company, and wish to register my envy of the male gender in that they do not qualify for a policy with FFW.
