Title: Extremely Poor Service, Misleading Communication & Claim Rejection – First for Women
Title: Extremely Poor Service, Misleading Communication & Claim Rejection – First for Women Complaint: I am extremely stressed and feel I have no other option but to raise this complaint. I have comprehensive cover with First for Women and multiple policies with them, yet the service I have received has been unacceptable. If I recall correctly, I logged a claim on 25 January 2024 and was referred to TLC to obtain a quotation. From that point until 5 February 2025, I received little to no communication from First for Women regarding my claim. After numerous follow-ups, I was eventually informed by a consultant that the claim was still in process and that additional documentation was required, including a technician to assess the scene and an accident report. I ensured that everything requested was provided. A few days later, I received an email stating that my claim had been finalised and that a voucher card would be issued. I then waited almost two weeks, calling repeatedly to follow up on the status of the card. When I contacted the consultant again, I was assured that the card would arrive the next day. However, instead of receiving the card, I received an email stating that my claim had been rejected. This level of inconsistent and misleading communication is completely unacceptable. I attempted to resolve this matter through multiple email channels without success. Eventually, I decided to cancel my policy. I was then informed that I could not be assisted due to a pro-rata fee of R279, which I disputed. It also came to my attention that there were two policies on my account for the same service, which I was never properly informed about. Had this been clearly communicated to me, I would have addressed the payments immediately. Why was I not made aware of this earlier? This raises serious concerns about transparency. If something serious had happened, such as my house burning down, would I have been left without cover due to poor communication? To make matters worse, I suffered financial loss as I missed out on two great deals to purchase a TV while waiting for the promised voucher card that never arrived. It is extremely disappointing that when it comes to selling policies and collecting payments, the service is efficient, but when it comes to claims and support, the experience is the complete opposite. Outcome Expected: • A full explanation for why my claim was initially approved and then rejected • Urgent reassessment of my claim
