The "undisclosed"conditions insurance companies keep from you until you claim
I am convinced insurance is one big **** and First for women just gave me final confirmation.
I damage my car driving into my yard, left side door and mirror get hurt, but now I back out and hook my bumper (it gets peeled off).
Put through my claim, after a week of the insurance trying all sorts of things to get out of the including the fact that the accident happened before I had my car inspected, unfortunately for them it was the Glassfit inspection that was outstanding not the 360. They call me and say that because I reversed, that is now two claims that both attract access! so if I hadn't "moved" he car like they put it, were they going to pick it up and avoid further damage?
I further enquire about the deposit that came up when I asked for a curtesy car. The policy document stipulates all costs, including the additional access and conditions. The consultant tells me that the conditions of the curtesy car are not in the policy doc because it includes a third party that being the car hire company. But they could tell you this when you take out the insurance because the calls are recorded, he further says they are not allowed to disclose the info pertaining to this deposit.
Why is it that they can get so technical to excuse themselves out of a claim, but at the same time they are allowed to withhold information that will affect your claim? how one incident can be broken down into multiple claims just because you changed gears and so that you have to pay double. I have been taken for a ride too many timesby insurance companies and if this helps someone manage their expectations, then at least that is something.
