Terrible Panel Beater of Choice

I am uncertain if this is actually a fault of First For Women but they need to reconsider to whom they outsource their work and the public need to be aware as well.

I have already written a review directed at the Panel Beater and this was my review:

I am shocked that a company as reputable as First For Women would outsource work to Auto Magic Durban North.

The back door needed to be replaced after a small car accident.

I was told that the vehicle would take maximum 8 days to be returned to me. I handed my vehicle in on the 19th July 2017.

Auto Magic called me on the 24th July advising that they need to order the door from KIA overseas and it would take 14 working days to be delivered to South Africa. I must then allow them 4-6 days MORE to complete the job. Thats 5 weeks that I am expected to function witout a vehicle. They offer NO courtesty vehicle.

I told the lady who called me that 5 weeks is a LONG time to not have a vehicle. She responded with - "Yes it is"

I cannot begin to fathom how a company who does insurance repairs, does not have STOCK?!

I will definitely be re-thinking my insurance company if this is their Panel Beater of choice.

Good day Dorothy
There is yet another delay. I received a phone call from Auto Magic on Friday just before 5 pm from an extremely rude and unsympathetic Sam. She advised me that the second door delivered was damaged.
How is this possible?
They chose to, very opportunistically, call me at the close of business on a Friday despite the fact that I was told the door would be delivered by lunch. Knowing that I could do nothing at that time. They probably predicted I would call you after, which I did, however it was close of business and out of hours so I was unable to get through all weekend as well.
Is this going to be investigated. Do they have a photo of the 2 damaged doors to submit to KIA?
I need assistance and I would like to know how you are going to help me as my insurance company?
If this matter goes on for months, I'm going to be with no vehicle for months?
Last week, Sindi asked me if I would take a courtesy vehicle on my policy in the future IF YOU GAVE ME A COURTESY VEHICLE NOW. I said I would have to consider that yes but I cannot give you an answer now.
She called me back saying no vehicle will be provided to me as it is a parts delay.
So you can only give me assistance if I upgrade my contract?? Despite the fact that this is unforeseen circumstances.
Auto Magic is saying that it's out of their control. First for women says they can't offer me further assistance as it's also not your problem. Basically.
So where does that leave me?
That leaves me paying insurance premiums for months on end till I hopefully get my car back.
I work far from home. Public transport is not the best and I cannot afford to hire a car from a car rental company.
I am asking you for assistance.
