Second Chances

Beginning November 2014 my house was broken into. I didn't claim because I haven't paid my premium for that month.Came end November I paid my premium and made the bad decision to put the claim in as if it just happened. The investigation revealed this discrepancy and the claim was withdrawn and my policy cancelled.Afterwards I realised it was not my nature and went for help.I was diagnosed with severe depression and gambling addiction.Since then I have been unable to get insurance for my car from any insurance company.I do understand their concerns, but the irony is that I still hold a policy with First for Woman to cover the shortfall amount on my vehicle.I queried why this amount was still deducted and was told that it is a separate policy and was not cancelled. So every month I pay FFW to cover the shortfall and they accept it, but they won't cover the actual vehicle.I made a mistake in a desperate time and am still being punished by the insurance industry for it.I drive 160km a day to work and back without any insurance. God forbid if anything should happen, I would be without any transport to get to work and all that entails.<br> Is there nobody that would afford me a second chance?

Hello DarellGerber,

Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention.

We acknowledge the concerns raised around the impact of not being able to obtain alternate insurance.

We will need to re-evaluate the merits of what transpired in November 2014.

Feedback will be communicated as soon as possible.

Kind Regards,

The First for Women Team
