Rude and uncompassionate

My parents had the unfortunate and terrifying experience of having their house broken into, luckily they were not home at the time. When they first phoned 1st for women to request a guard as they were scared to sleep in the house with a broken gate, they were told by a very rude person that they had to pay R700 for this, definitely not the service 1st for women advises. Obviously they just had they house broken into and did not have that type of money, no other alternative was even offered, end of conversation. The next day when my mother complained, they said they would send someone to fix the gate, which never happened, my father had to get that sorted as the thought of spending another night in a house with no gate was too terrifying for my mother, and obviously this did not matter to 1st for women, throughout the experience they have been rude, asking repetitive questions, like could it have been avoided; as if anyone would like their privacy and safety compromised. My parents have not experienced a house burglary in 20 years and have truly been traumatized by this as they did feel very safe at home, and then they have to deal with 1st for women. While I can understand the need for proof and such with regards to claims, most of what was ****** was my mothers jewellery, most old, as its from her wedding many years ago, and at that time there was no need for valuations and proof of ownership. They want the serial number and proof of purchase for the TV, which I know I don't even have for my own TV, so I might as well cancel my insurance as it seems quite pointless now. Furthermore they send out an assessor who wants to inflate the value of everything, placing shoes at R120000, as if my parents have shoes for that value, my parents aren't even claiming for the full value of what they are insured for and there are already so many hassles, I can't understand why 1st for women would think inflating the value of the cover would be the answer, and surely you should have a right to decide what you wish to cover, not someone dictate to you that your AMC pots should be covered for R10000 each, and if you can't produce proof you paid R10000 should you ever have to claim - I don't see 1st for women paying out then, so why is your assessor doing this? You send an assessor who refused to listen, my father has recently had a stoke and has difficulty walking, and my parents have had to run around trying to get what is requested of them. A laptop that had a contract taken over 10 years ago, which my parents are truly struggling to get anything from Vodacom, we don't know the contract number as it was used as a data contract, which was loaded automatically. A tablet which I gave to my mother that we have the IMEI number for but the assessor can't seem to understand that it never had a SIM, because there is no such thing as WIFI, when I gave it to my mother she never put her sim in it as it didn't fit at the time, we never got around to sorting it out. She can't tell us how we can get it blacklisted without a SIM, as its not with a specific network. I just don't know what to tell my mother anymore besides just to let it go as it really not worth the stress of dealing with people that make you feel like a ********, that can't seem to understand the trauma of having your safe place, your home violated, having your things ****** and things which you worked hard for, now you got to try and justify everything, as if these ********* can't take your stuff and make use of it in another country.
