PLEASE APPROVE MY CLAIM AND SETTLE THE MATTER
Date: 29 August 2023 Dear 1st for Women APPEAL AGAINST THE CLAIM OUTCOME ISSUED ON 19 APRIL 2023 UNDER POLICY NUMBER *** FOR AN INCIDENT OF 19 MARCH 2023
Following an outcome generated by 1st for Women where it was based on the following quoted statement along the letter: • The necessary care and precautions were not taken to prevent loss and minimize damage. This letter intends to reject this outcome and appeal for reconsideration and a positive outcome of the claim with AR no 30/03/2023. The following factors bear reference to my appeal and reconsideration for a positive outcome as follows: • The vehicle's speed was insufficient to justify rejecting the claim because the designated driver at the time had failed to exercise due care or take reasonable precautions to avoid loss and minimise damage.
• Primarily, no experts have been contacted to make a professional report and quantify that the speed has indeed been validated and was unavoidable but bound to happen.
• No one was at the scene to have a look at the accident scene for further scrutiny of the case.
• 1st for Women had not proven, on a balance of probabilities, that the designated driver had failed to exercise due care or take reasonable precautions to avoid the accident while driving at a 60km zone. On the road, a very dangerous and huge pothole was not taken into consideration.
• Furthermore, we just celebrated (letter dated 25 April 2023) another year since the inception of the policy, and 1st for women had just complimented me for that factor. This is always also evidence of a living testimony to my dedication financially and general responsibility.
• Some business acumen tends to gamble in an attempt to cut costs by not ensuring their business transport but it is not the case with my situation. Of course, bearing in mind that we just came off from the most gruelling three years of financial crisis due to COVID-19, which influenced globally, I remained defiant and positive to work with proper ethics. Tough as it is, I pledged to work harder so that I make sure that monthly installments are paid for the truck.
RECOMMENDATIONS: • 1ST FOR WOMEN must settle this matter and approve the claim in full. • They are still making deductions while the storage people tried to sabotage me to sell the bakkie while the matter is still under review. They must continue to deduct the amount as the outcome must be a positive one. I decided to go through this route as when i read the helicopter portal, i reckon that most of their clients are experiencing the same thing. The business is highly suffering and need to get back to business and also gather some funds to pay medical bills for my younger brother who is hospitalised due to heart problems and support my mom.
This matter has been on since around march and there was not even an estimated amount that will cost to repair the bakkie but only to inform that the claim has been rejected. I object to this.
Kindly note that your matter has been escalated to the relevant team to look into.
