Pathetic

good day. I was involved in an accident on the evening of the 06 June 2019. Matter was reported at Cleveland Police Station at 07.00 on the 07 June 2019. I then forwarded all the details to First for woman. My accident was with a logistics company truck. I provided all the details and contacted the company direct. I forwarded the incident details to a 'Bilall Cook' from the Claims department on the 13 June 2019. This was when he contacted me to confirm all the details. Nothing further was communicated via Bilall. I tried contacting him and had to speak to another consultant. I was then contacted by the assigned panel beater and the car was sent in for repairs on the 18 June 2019. I collected my vehicle on the 04 July 2019. On collection I noticed a few faults which had to be rectified. I was also told that secondhand parts were used for the repair. this was never mentioned to me prior the repairs. Not even mentioned on inception of the policy. I was also expected to pay R4650, excess on collection of my car. I had not heard anything regarding the recovery of the excess from the third party. I then forwarded an email to the recoveries department on the 08 July 2019 where I, again, forwarded all the details through to Kgomotso Buthane who never rep**** to my mail. I made mention in the mail that this was what I had forwarded to Bilall and should she require any further details that she should contact me. I was later copied into a mail where she contacted the third party. I then emailed her on the 18 July 2019 to follow up on the outcome. A reply was finally sent to me on the 20 July 2019 requesting all the details I had already supp**** to her. On contacting her telephonically this morning, 24 July 2019, I was spoken to as if I were the third party and that she was doing me a favour by attending to my incident. I mentioned to her that I had already supp**** all of the details. I am disgusted at the amount I had to pay in and that nothing has been done regarding my money. I was told that my no claim bonus now falls away. nothing is being done to recover my portion as long as they get their money on a monthly basis. Second hand parts are used on repairs and according to Kgomotso it is because my vehicle is out of maintenance plan!!!! This was never mentioned when I requested a quotation. It was also mentioned that she requires my authorization in order to request the accident report. This is the first I hear of this and to think I have been in contact with the staff since the 07 June 2019. Someone needs to address this as I am definitely not the only person who has been taken for a ride. I am a single parent hence I have insurance as my vehicle is my means of getting my daughter to and from school and myself to work and back. The panel beater does not offer terms and the R4650 is payable on delivery! this was paid out of my credit card and there are charges that need to be paid on this 'loan'. These charges will not be recovered from the third party!!! This is pathetic and the fact that I had to do all the running around makes me wonder why I need First For Woman. I basically s**** feed them all the info. What I want from the Ombudsman: I would like my money recovered. I would like my payout to be made and someone needs to take legal action on my behalf in recovering the excess. First For Woman has a legal department so they should be acting on my behalf. I would like the Ombudsman to investigate insurance companies as it seems to be a money making scheme.
