No "Guardian Angels" AROUND

On Sunday night at about 19:50, myself and my girlfriend was involved in an accident on the N1 off-ramp to Lynnwood Drive. Immediately after the accident myself and she phoned First for Women's contact lines for assistance. Below is a call log of the numbers we phoned and the times, as well as how long we held onto the line:

From my number:

Number called: ********** - Option for guardian angels chosen (511)no one picked up.
Sunday 03 July 19:56 Outgoing call, 2 min 36 sec
Sunday 03 July 20:05 Outgoing call, 4 min 56 sec
Sunday 03 July 20:18 Outgoing call, 4 min 01 sec
Sunday 03 July 20:29 Outgoing call, 2 min 39 sec
Sunday 03 July 20:49 Outgoing call, 5 min 41 sec

Number called: ********** - I was transferred by the lady on service, no one picked up.
Sunday 03 July 20:34 Outgoing call, 2 min 27 sec

Number called: 086 111 1805- after the appropriated selections was done, no one picked up.
Sunday 03 July 20:37 Outgoing call, 2 min 24 sec

After my last call my cellphone's battery died.

From my girlfriends number:

Number called: ********** - She was transferred by the lady on service, no one picked up.
Sunday 03 July 20:31 Outgoing call, 0 min 46 sec

Number called: ********** - This number given to her by one of the First Road employees.
Sunday 03 July 19:57 Outgoing call, 0 min 20 sec
We stood by the side of the road for more than a hour waiting for someone to pick up the phone. This is completely unacceptable. Not even the police showed up. Eventually someone got through after 21:00

Luckily I was with my girlfriend when this accident happened, What would have become of her if she was alone by the side of the road?? What is the point of the "guardian angels" if they don't pick up their phones?

Being in a serious accident is traumatizing enough, there is no need to add more stress by not being able to get hold of your insurance company to tow the car away, after I pay them a large sum of money every month.

This is inexcusable, It was on a Sunday night at 19:50, this is not even a strange hour in the middle of the night. It is not necessary to call an emergency line more than 10 times to get an answer.

Hi Franco

As telephonically discussed; I have now sent through the findings of the investigation done by the Assist Line to you via email. I can understand your frustration and no amount of apologies can make up for the experience you encountered.

Please know that it would never be our intention to place you and your loved ones in any danger and we would never want you to experience unnecessary frustration and inconvenience at a time that you need us the most.

Please accept our apology once again. We truly hope that you will never have to go through an event of that nature again.

Kind Regards

The First for Women Team

Reviewer Update

Good day,

As discussed telephonically a simple "sorry this won't happen again" is not enough.

What is your daughter was in the same situation? Would you simply accept this nonchalant sorry? I specifically chose first for women for my girlfriend because of the guardian angels service, and it is not cheap.

On your findings report you focus only on the calls she and the first road operator made. What about the ten calls made by myself? I was supposed to go to the hospital, but I had to stay since I could not just leave her there with the car in the middle of the road and an insurance company not picking up their telephones.

After I see the way this situation is treated, I would not even recommend this insurance company to my worst enemy.

Regards
