My onboarding was fine and the review of my policy also went well

My onboarding was fine and the review of my policy also went well. The only thing I did not understand is after the review process and my premium has been adjusted, why are they not able to correct the amount deducted by either reversing the surplus or adding it to the next premium, rather than say "there's nothing we can do about it".
