Misleading household insurance
I have insurance with First for Woman, we never claim. I lost my handbag and this was the only claim that we had. When I claimed for my laptop that was damaged by water, I was informed that they don't cover it if it is not specified in the policy. I only use my laptop at home and never travel with it. I was under the impression that it falls under your household insurance. I can understand it, if you need to specify it if you travel with it. I was informed that they only cover household goods if there was a burgalry of water damage. We have a alarm system and is connected to a 24hour armed response and the house is never unoccupied, so the changes that there will be a break in is Zero. We never had a problem with our other insurance as they even covered you for normal breakage. Now I was informed that they don't cover breakage only if it is your tv glass. My question is that this policy is very misleading. My claim was rejected.
