Lack of Information from Agent
My insurance premium bounced, I received an email stating that you will debit again on the 12th. I spoke to Hilda Van Niekerk via Webchat on Saturday, 29.09 requesting to debit again on the 3rd of October. She stated that the policy T's & C's only allow for a grace period of 15 days and they cannot initiate a special deduction. However, I double checked & the policy states: 'If your premium is not received on your preferred deduction date, an attempt may be made to collect your premium on a more suitable deduction date in an effort to keep you covered. If payment is not received for three consecutive months, the policy will be cancelled immediately." I then informed her that the 3rd would be a more suitable date than the 12th as I would have funds in my account on the 3rd. She said that the system states that you cannot initiate a deduction now & that you also await confirmation from my bank. I received an SMS today : "You missed payment on your First for Women policy. To ensure cover reply 1 for an immediate debit order resubmission or 2 for a call back. FSP 15261 As you can imagine my confusion, I requested 2 for a call back so I can find out why the hell I was misinformed. It’s only been an hour since but I need to know if you are able to debit my premium today or tomorrow? Please train your agents to give us correct information! How do you expect us to trust you if this could have possibly resulted in me not having cover due to your misinformed agent?!
