Insurance claim

I took out an insurance policy with 1st for women. My vehicle was involved in an accident. Unfortunately l was not driving on the fateful day. Now since l have to claim its like l am now being investigated. Like where do l stay. To the fact that they went to ask security guards. Why don't they do this before they sign you up. Why was this other person driving my car and so forth. When you sign up with 1st for women it means one doesn't have a private life.
