I was referred to 1st for Woman's Discount Section and spoke to Mbali Memela. I explained my current situation of being a housewife and my husband a pensioner. Which results in us struggling to meet with all our obligations. I also told her that the increase of more than R300 - 00 at the end of March 2025, was very steep in comparison with some of our other policies that increased with the highest amount of R150 - 00. She went through the various items I am insured for on my policy and also verified if our house value is still the same. Our house value increased drastically after both me and my husband made various upgrades to our house when we stopped being employed. She said she noted the increased value on their system. She offered me a lesser installment amount of R1677 - 27 due to our current financial situation with effect from 30 April 2025.
